PRACTITIONERS

At First Descents our number one priority is ensuring that we offer a safe, successful experience for all of our participants. Through our professional outfitting partners, we have emergency medical staff onsite at every program. Additionally, all applications are reviewed by a team of volunteer Oncologists and Oncology nurses, who communicate with each participant's PCP.  If you are interseted in being a part of First Descents programs as a volunteer reviewer, or if you have patients who might benefit from attending FD, here are a few things to consider.

• Our programs are free to our participants. This includes food, programs, activities and lodging. In some cases the cost of travel is included for first year participants and those that are in active treatment.
• All of our locations are within 30 minutes of a medical facility and comprehensive medical care.
• All locations have emergency evacuation options and protocol. Each program has experienced emergency medical staff on site.
• All applications are reveiwed by a team of Oncologist and Oncology nurses who collaborate with each applicant's medical team to ensure the experience is safe and appropriate.
