Raised in Glacier National Park, Whitney moved on to compete
for the Chico State women's track team before transferring back home to graduate from the University of Montana in 2003.
As a fly fishing and whitewater rafting guide, Whitney spent eight years sharing the beauty and adventure of Montana's waters
with global visitors. Before coming to First Descents, Whitney co-owned and operated a land title company in rural western
Montana. Today, Whitney is thrilled to live in the Colorado Rockies and on her days off she enjoys skiing, fishing, trail
running with her beloved pup Charlie, and traveling home to Montana.
Lisa is a Michigan native living with her family in Rockville, MD. A
University of Wisconsin grad, Lisa has spent the past 20 years in several
successful careers including political media consulting, advertising,
corporate marketing and real estate sales. In the summer of 2008, Lisa
volunteered as a camp-mom at a First Descents' Montana camp. The experience
was so powerful that she chose to leave the for-profit world and join First
Descents full-time. She is thrilled to be a member of the First Descents
staff where she can focus all of her professional energies on supporting
young adults with cancer. While not FD'ing it up, she is "Mom" (not to be
confused with her camp name "Stepmom") to 3 daughters - Daryn, Arlyn and
Bailey and two mutts. She also enjoys reading, skiing, biking, hiking and
(gasp!)needlepoint.
